One of the great benefits of RRR membership is the opportunity to get a bus ride to the start of the NYC Marathon. We have been doing this since almost the beginning and we know our members appreciate it. If you haven't done the NYC Marathon, it can be almost impossible to just have someone drop you off. However, buses are given close access to the start for participants.
The bus will leave at 6:30AM SHARP and we mean SHARP from the Palisades Mall - Lot J. The bus will have a bathroom. For members the cost is $10 and for non-members $35, which includes a one year membership to Rockland Road Runners. WHAT A DEAL! The bus will get you there early, so we recommend you bring warm throw away clothes, blanket or even a chair. Sitting on the floor for such a long time can be painful to your body and cause you to be stiff at the start. Just don't expect to bring them back. They will be donated to a shelter by the volunteers at NYCRR. We strongly recommend, at the minimum, several plastic black trashbags. The bags are great if the ground is wet or cold or the weather rainy.
