The Marisa 10K is coming on May 23

The Rockland Road Runners Club is proud to present the sixth annual Marisa 10K Run and 3 Mile Fun Walk at Rockland Lake State Park on Sunday, May 23. The proceeds from the race benefit the Marisa Fund for the Pediatric Blood & Bone Marrow Transplant Program at the Children's Hospital at New York Presbyterian and Columbia University.

Interclub Challenge 5K coming April 25

The Interclub Challenge 5K is a friendly competition between the area's local running clubs - Orange, Sullivan, Rockland, and the Bronx. RRR are the defending Champions after a dominating performance at Rockland Lake last year. We will need to take it on the road in 2010 to retain our title. The Sullivan Striders are hosting the Challenge this year and the race is scheduled for Sunday, April 25, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Emerald Green Entertainium, 139 Old Sackett Road, Rock Hill, New York 12775. We ask that you please mail them no later than April 18th . Race day registration will be available at 9:30 a.m. Please also confirm your attendance for the race by sending an email to TeamRRR@rocklandroadrunners.org
If we get enough participants to confirm early, we plan to rent a bus.

As with prior years, it would be appreciated if some participants could bring a covered dish, drinks, snacks, or a desert. We will have access to a full kitchen so there will be electrical outlets and a stove for any hot dishes.

Volunteers are also needed for the finish area and water stop, so please join us even if you will not be able to run.

NYC Half Marathon, March 21, 2010

Congratulations to all the finishers. Unfortunately, the New York Road Runners had an issue with the results and did not record the team information for any of the teams. Therefore, I was unable to pull the results for Team RRR. If people would like me to post their NYC Half results here, send an email to TeamRRR@rocklandroadrunners.org with: Name, Age, Race Time (official chip time you pull from the NYRR results). If I gather up enough names, I will also send an email to NYRR and see if they can add the team designation to their results. This was not a team points race.

Caumsett 50K, March 7, 2010

Congratulations to our hearty ultramarathoners who competed in the 50k Caumsett race on Long Island - 10 X 5k laps in the park.

There were 108 finishers with 125 starters in the 50k event.

Mike Nusblat ran the 50k in 4:28:16 at 8:39 pace - third in the 55-59 age group.

Gokhan Ozuner's time was 5:09:30 at 9:58 pace - 7th in the 45-49 age group.

Ed Brown is coming back from an injury but still completed about 25 miles of valuable training.

Please remember to register early for the next NYRR team points race, the Scotland 10K on April 3. That race will likely hit the limit and be closed out.
