The NYRR Grete Half Marathon is coming up this Saturday, Oct 2. It is a team points race. Please register at the NYRR website.

There is a new 5K at Rockland Lake coming up on Saturday, Oct 2 - The Jami Erlich 5K. Register on Active.com or email jamierlich5k@yahoo.com for more information.

On Saturday, Oct 9, there is another race at Rockland Lake - the Jawonio Race for Recovery 10K.

Also on Saturday, Oct 9, is a 5K in Oradell, NJ.

Finally (for now), the Flat and Fast Norwood 5K is coming up on Saturday, October 23.

Fresh Air Fund - NYC Marathon

FYI. Here is some information on a program being run by the Fresh Air fund.

The Fresh Air Fund is still looking for runners and sponsors to join their Fresh Air Fund - Racers team for the NYC Marathon on November 7th. They have until September 30th to register their racers, so they need to fill the spots quickly. This is a great way to participate in NYC's premier race while helping Fresh Air Fund children. Over the past four years as a NY Road Runners charity partner for the NYC Half-Marathon, their 325 Fund-Racers have raised close to $400,000 for The Fresh Air Fund!

New local 5K race coming up on September 25

5K Run/Walk Green Meadow Waldorf School

8AM on September 25. Chestnut Ridge, NY

Advance registration deadline: Monday, Sept. 20.

Advance registration is preferred but not required. You may also register at 7am on the day of the race. Parking is at Chestnut Ridge Middle School, where shuttle buses will take participants to registration and start line at Capital Park; Ullman Terrace & Capricorn Lane.

Check-in for registered participants begins at 7:15am.
Cost: $25/person or $70/family.
Jogging strollers welcome, but please note that part of the terrain includes gravel.
